I would like to go to sleep one day, and wake up to a different world. And a different me.

I would like to wake up and walk into a street where I can trust people at first sight.

I would like to wake up into a world where I’m not a boy or girl, but a person.

I would like to wake up into a world where I can sit out on the rocks at night,in my own colony, and not worry about the time or how dark it is.

A world where I can pack my bags, take a cheap train to nowhere, carve myself a walking stick and just walk.

Where I can sleep under the sky, with nothing but the night to wake me.

Where I can sit down in the middle of nowhere and not be stared at.

But most of all…where I can trust you, and know you mean me no harm.

This blog shall go to sleep for two weeks. Sweet dreams 🙂

I loved the post. There is a Ghazal written by Ghalib which says -I want to build a house without walls, it should be in a place where nobody knows me or understands my language. If I fall sick there should be no one to take care of me and so on and so forth. I don’t remember the whole Ghazal, but your post reminds me of that.
I will miss your posts. They are very refreshing.

firstly, i cant BELIEVE u laugh at ppl who comment. i bet pinky is gng to be devastated.
SECONDLY i would like to wake up into a world where im not forced to look at mad ppl’s madder blogs
thirldly, its extremely well written. uve captured in a nutshell that fleeting irritation i think all of us go through when we cant go somewhere cos its too dark, or its too unsafe, we cant just get up and run off cos it makes no “sense”. i especially liked the part about sleeping under the sky.
fourthly, madam are u considering marriaz? bcos im interested

Living between your ears is a good way to start. Oh, and Mumbai is pretty much like that (a slight bit less now due to the massive overcrowding, you are more likely to be run over by a drunk driver)

Living between your ears…best answer I’ve got in a while : )
Mumbai..used to feel very claustrophobic there, but somehow I think I will like the place were I to live there. Every place gives off a vibe, and Mumbai people give off good ones 🙂

Oh, as a friend of mine from Chennai who moved here told me ,”When I moved here, I was ready to move out in three days. After three months, I was not ready to live anywhere else”.
