PETA activists… July 13, 2007

I have never understood this. All the photos I see of PETA demonstrations in the newspaper, involve naked women. Naked women in cages, naked women with cute heart shaped cardboard cut-outs and rabbit ears.

Why? Why the nakedness? Why naked women all the time? Why not naked men? And why any nakedness at all?
The only reason I can think of is that bare bodies grab attention.
Hm. That doesn’t seem too right to me… exhibitionism to garner support for a cause(imagine…nude models walking around the street asking for money for earthquake victims/riot victims/etc. Quite unappetising, isn’t it?) .
Oh well. I have never been a fan of PETA.
iam also nota fan at all ,but i think the deal is ‘it’s better to be naked than wear fur’ or some such ,i dont wear fur because its ugly haha
Oh, but its not fur they protest against every time…that logic I would understand. The naked-in-a-cage I was talking about was about confining poultry and other animals to tiny cages. Bad practice, I agree, but do you have to be naked to convince me of that??
It would work, wouldn’t it? Imagine a bunch of naked women asking for money for say a cause like earthquakes per se. I am sure the coffers would be twice as heavy as their cousins that delve in the clothed world?
Sigh, I need to sleep.
A few times, organizations have refused money since the people who were donating it had got it by using their sex appeal, or going naked. Naked bodies – men or women, do get attention. The only difference is the cause that they are stripping down for. As you said, it doesn’t make sense for a bunch of ladies to strip down and get money for an earthquake.

No, but then, I don’t want to see the protesting women either. So I figure if I have to see naked women, I might as well see the naked men…
It does not take women long to understand the meaning of SEX SELLS.
